Entrevistamos a Gonzalo Heresi, el dueño de la tienda Siena. Muy importante en la manufactura del lino a nivel nacional.

1. ¿Cuáles son las propiedades principales del lino?
El lino es una fibra natural y orgánica ya que no contamina el medio ambiente. Además es antibacteriana y antialérgica por naturaleza, no genera peeling y puede durar años como el santo sudario.
También se caracteriza por ser una tela hidrófila ya que absorbe la humedad.
Es muy resistente, más que el algodón y la seda, mientras más se lava mejor aspecto tiene.
Por otro lado, es una fibra viva. Esto significa que siempre se mueve dándole un look de elegancia, sofisticación y ligereza incomparable. Es la única tela que con su arruga da un toque de elegancia única.

 

2. ¿Cuál es la materia prima del lino y cómo se hace?
El lino nace de la planta de lino, esta planta después de varios procesos de enrielado, se transforma en hilado, siendo solo el 3% de la planta el que se transforma en el hilado de las telas que nosotros fabricamos, el resto de la planta sirve para hilados mas toscos, menos finos, y para sub productos en la agricultura.

3. ¿El lino es una tela delicada? ¿Cuáles son sus cuidados?
El lino es una tela muy resistente, sin embargo dado que es de fibra natural tiende a encoger y alargarse, por esto es prioritario lavarla en seco.

4. ¿Cuáles son sus principales usos?
El lino tiene miles de usos, siendo el principal hoy día la ropa de vestir, telas de hogar, cordeles, velas de barco, recubrimientos técnicos, filtros y de la resina de la planta incluso se fabrican muebles.

5. ¿Cuáles son las ventajas de las fibras naturales?
En general las fibras naturales nos generan un agrado al cuerpo, son biodegradables, generan un placer natural a la piel humana dado que no son artificiales, dan un tacto único ( las guaguas aman sus «tutos» de algodón 100%), una sensación de frescura incomparables y en algunos tejidos, la sensación de la piel humana que da abrigo y confort.

6. ¿De dónde viene el lino de Siena?
En el caso del Lino de SIENA, usamos materias primas belgas, de la asociación «Master of Lienen», esto asegura que no sean mezclas con otros productos, que sea fibra larga, lo que previene roturas y peelings, a diferencia de las telas chinas o de otro origen que se hacen con el desperdicio de nuestras materias primas, siendo incomparable en su uso y terminación.
